Wounded Warrior Dog VII

The content of this sculpture is the unseen dog, which visitors believe to be in the box under the flag. It was inspired by a video image of a handler’s flag-draped casket being unloaded from an aircraft, followed by a plain box containing the remains of his military working dog. Soldier and best friend had died together. This seventh sculpture in the installation represents the veteran who did not survive.
